If You’re a dog lover, the following video might be difficult to take. What happened to Prince the dog was cruel beyond words, but his rescue and recovery is truly inspiring! We share this story to raise awareness regarding animal abuse and to inspire everyone to do something about it.

Chris Holmyard a foreign national while walking on the Miramar beach, heard a dog in distress what he saw was really heart breaking. This is what Chris Told In Goa 24×7

“2 months ago I was walking my dog near to Miramar beach, I was on my way back to my scooter when a man who was out on his morning walk approached me and said he had heard a dog crying in a field not far from the science centre and did I know of anyone that could help to get it, I said that if he showed me where it was I would see what I could do.
We got on to my scooter with my dog and set off to the area he had heard the dog in distress. When we first got there it was quite and no dog could be see, but after a few seconds we heard a cry for help from behind a bush at the edge of the field, as it was the start of the monsoon season the field was submerged in water and as I looked I could see a small puppy behind the bush. I decided to try and catch the puppy as I could take it to the Panjim Animal Welfare centre. As I got close to the puppy in knee deep water the puppy tried to get away from me but I managed to throw a raincoat over it and picked him up and carried the puppy to the scooter. Once I got the puppy to the scooter I had a quick look at him to see if it was okay and not injured. To my utter disbelief I found that his back paws had been cut off. I looked at the wound and it was so neatly cut that I thought it had been done by a vet, but why then would he be abandoned into a water logged field to drown. I had many questions but no one to ask them too. I and the man managed to get the puppy settled and we drove to Paw’s once there I was able to take a closer look at the amputation, it was so cleanly cut I thought it must have been done on purpose and not an accident. The puppy had not been caught in a snare or involved in an accident. I just could not imagine who or why he had been operated on.
I made him comfortable in one of the cages in the shelter gave him some food and water and decided to check on him later in the day. When I came back he was very scared and unsure of what was happening but at least he was safe and warm with food and water. And in the morning I would take him to a vet as PAW’s does not have a resident vet. The next day I took the puppy to the Animal Hospital in Campal and managed to show the puppy to a vet there. She said the wound was healing okay and it looked as if it had been cut with a purpose she said it may even be an amputation by someone who was practicing to become a vet. I said but why would they then leave it in a field to drown she said she did not know and lucky he was found or he would have died.
I returned the puppy to Paws with the intention of finding him a home. But as most people want a perfect male pedigree dog my job was not going to be easy. I visited the Puppy as much as possible and made sure he was comfortable fed and became a bit more trusting of humans. After all he had been through I was surprised he did not try to bite me.
After about three weeks the puppy was moved into a bigger cage and he settled in to his daily routine I checked on him when I could but noticed he was getting thin and not looking as well as when I first brought him. I went into his cage and saw he was covered in Ticks he must have had about 500 on him all of different sizes. I decided I would not leave him at PAW’s any longer and took him to another shelter who I was told was better than PAW’s when I got there and once the vet had seen the puppy she said it was best to euthanize him I said why he just has amputated back paws otherwise he is okay she said no one would want him. Better to put him down now and not let him suffer any more. I said where is his suffering. I said I am willing to look after him so why put him to sleep and I’m sure someone will take him in. she eventually gave me a few phone numbers of people that may help and I am happy to say the people I phoned all have helped in some way, I have had someone offer to pay some medical fees as his wounds needed to be finished off properly so they can heal and allow him to walk without pain. Someone has found him a home which will be ready in a few months as the person is traveling and is away till then. All in all the Puppy has a future he will have a good home and I believe he will have a happy life as so many people are going out of their way to help him.
The reason for this story is not about me, it’s not about the incredible people that are helping or who have helped it’s about him. He suffered the most dreadful shocking and inhuman treatment by someone that I can only say has no heart. This little puppy has learnt to trust and have faith in humans again in such a short time that it’s a shame that we as humans cannot be the same and learn the same lesson.
He has come to terms with his injuries he does not lay around feeling sorry for himself he is like any 3-4 month old puppy. inquisitive and playful.
I named him Prince as he is a prince among st other who allow small insignificant things to stop them in their tracks he has overcome a lot in his short life and we should all take a leaf from his book.”

In spite of the nightmares and pain that Prince went through, he’s naturally friendly, as you can see in the video. Prince is still a happy dog who loves getting cuddles and head rubs! More proof that these animals have hearts of gold that can easily forgive and forget.

As Chris will be going back to his country he has appealed all the animal lovers to adopt this beautiful puppy and provide him a good shelter.

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday told the House that first round of auction process of Iron Ore mining leases is proposed to be completed in next three-four months. Sawant was cornered by opposition benches including Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo, Goa Forward party MLA Vijai Sardesai, Independent MLA Chandrakant Shetye on the issue of retrenchment of staff by the mining companies.

The mining industry in the state has come to standstill since 2018 after Supreme Court quashed the mining leases. Sardesai sought an assurance that State government will make it mandatory for the companies, winning the auction, to retain the workforce which is currently working on those mining leases.

The Chief Minister told the House that the first round of auction process is proposed to be completed in next 3-4 months, the experienced workforce available in Goa is expected to get employment opportunities once the mining activity resumes in the state.

“The State will explore the possibility of giving preference in employment to the existing workforce through successful bidders after auction process is completed and mining activity is resumed,” Sawant said.

The Chief Minister said that order to restart mining activity in the State, Government is gearing up for auctioning of mining blocks on priority.

“In order auction the mining blocks expeditiously the State has entered into a MoU with Mineral Exploration Consultancy Limited (MECL), a Government of India enterprise, for providing Geological reports,” he said.

Sawant told the members of the House that the State has decided to engage services of SBICAP Securities Limited for transaction advisory services for preparation of bid documents and conduct of bid process. “The Directorate of Mines and Geology is expected to sign the agreement with SBICAP in couple of days,” he said.

The State has proposed to engage Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited (MSTC) auction platform for conduct of auctioning process, Sawant said adding that a High Powered Committee is being set up to monitor the auction process in a time bound manner.

He said that the Directorate of Mines & Geology has set up a Special Auction Cell to expedite auction process.

“Government has to comply with the statutory requirements and court orders in re-starting mining activity in the State. In this direction, as stated, Government has already taken concrete steps for resumption of mining activity through auction process,” he added.

Sawant said that this will give employment opportunities to the existing experienced workforce. Therefore, there should not be any fear or anxiety in this regard and government is committed in its efforts, he added. (GoaNewsHub)
