Undertrial Inmate Assaulted Inside Colvale Central Jail

21-year-old inmate shifted to Asilo Hospital after sustaining facial injuries in alleged attack by fellow prisoners An undertrial inmate lodged at Colvale Central Jail was allegedly assaulted by fellow inmates inside the prison premises on Friday. The injured inmate, identified as Rakesh Patil (21), sustained facial injuries in the incident and was immediately shifted to Asilo District Hospital for medical treatment. Patil had earlier been arrested in connection with a 2023 hit-and-run case reported from Chuchelim. Authorities have initiated further investigation into the alleged assault inside the jail premises.
