Sanguem Leaders Oppose Proposal for ST Reservation of Constituency

Elected representatives and members of various communities from the Sanguem Assembly constituency have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and BJP Goa President Damu Naik opposing the proposal to reserve the constituency for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.The delegation stated that while they support adequate political representation for Scheduled Tribes, any decision on reservation should be taken only after a fresh Census and delimitation exercise. They argued that constituency reservation must be based on updated population data to ensure a fair, transparent, and democratic process.
