Dual Noise Rules Turn Goa into “Banana Republic”: Sardesai

GFP chief slams selective enforcement, midnight curbs on locals Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has termed Goa a “banana republic,” alleging double standards in the enforcement of noise pollution rules. He said local weddings and community events are forced to shut down by 10 pm despite the Chief Minister’s Assembly assurance of extensions till midnight, while nightclubs in North Goa—run by outsiders—continue partying till dawn unchecked. Sardesai condemned what he called selective enforcement favouring tourists and “Delhiwalas” over Goans, and questioned government officers for publicly justifying the rules amid growing public anger.
