A potentially dangerous tree along the main road in the Hodor area of Curchorem was finally removed, nearly a year after official permission was granted by the Deputy Collector. The tree had been posing a serious risk to commuters and nearby structures, but remained unattended despite repeated concerns raised by locals.The removal was ultimately carried out following the intervention of social worker Dattaraj Desai, who ensured the hazard was cleared. The incident has raised questions over delays between administrative approvals and on-ground execution, with concerns being voiced over accountability in addressing public safety risks in a timely manner.
