Police directed to enforce Motor Vehicles Act while ensuring passengers are not inconvenienced The Goa Directorate of Transport has directed the Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) to strictly enforce the Motor Vehicles Act against passenger vehicle drivers found driving under the influence of alcohol while on duty. The directive follows a representation by the All Goa Private Bus Owners Association seeking tougher action against such violations. In its communication, the department instructed police to proceed under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act while ensuring that passengers are not unnecessarily inconvenienced by the detention of vehicles.
