Activists Urge Govt to Protect Bondvel Lake Zone Following Study

CSIR-NIO and GSPCB recommend 50 ha as ‘zone of influence’; locals seek immediate action A study conducted by CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography and the Goa State Pollution Control Board has recommended that 50 hectares of land around Bondvel Lake be designated as a protected ‘zone of influence’. Social activists Inacio Pereira, Arthur D’Souza and Aditya Parulekar have urged the government to honour the findings of the report and take immediate steps to safeguard the ecologically sensitive area.
