Mandar Dilip Manjarekar, a 56-year-old resident of Misaldar Gully in Belagavi, left his home along with his senior citizen mother to visit the DOMI-Army Institute at Camp.Upon returning around 3:15 PM, Mr. Manjarekar found three two-wheelers blocking the entrance to his parking slot near a local ATM. With the help of bystanders, he managed to move the vehicles and attempted to park his car.Suddenly, a couple—allegedly local residents—intercepted him and claimed ownership of the road space, refusing to let him park. A heated verbal exchange followed, with the woman accusing Mr. Manjarekar of hitting her husband’s scooter.The situation escalated as the woman began hurling verbal abuses. Alarmed, Mr. Manjarekar’s elderly mother rushed inside their home to call for help.The altercation turned physical when the man allegedly assaulted Mr. Manjarekar. In the scuffle, the 56-year-old was pushed forcefully, causing him to fall and hit the back of his head .It was only thanks to the quick response from nearby SBI bank staff—including Bank Manager Mrs. Keerthi Asude—and local shopkeepers, that the victim received immediate help.Despite being visibly injured, Mr. Manjarekar was reportedly intimidated once again by the same couple. Public intervention prevented further violence.
