Chemical-Free Fruit Ripening Chamber Set Up at Mapusa Yard

Four Chambers to Be Ready Before Ganesh Chaturthi; Natural Ethanol Used for Safer Produce To ensure the availability of safer, chemical-free fruits during the festive season, the Directorate of Agriculture has set up a natural fruit ripening chamber at the Mapusa yard. Using ethanol-based ripening methods, the chamber aims to replace harmful chemicals traditionally used in the process. With a capacity of 15 tonnes each, a total of four chambers are expected to be operational before Ganesh Chaturthi to handle the growing inflow of bananas and mangoes.
