Car coming from wrong direction hits two-wheeler; rider and pillion seriously injured A serious road accident was reported on the Mapusa–Siolim road after a speeding car allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol rammed head-on into a two-wheeler. The accident occurred as the car was reportedly coming from the wrong direction, resulting in grievous injuries to both the rider and the pillion.Locals immediately alerted the 108 ambulance service and the injured were rushed to the Mapusa District Hospital. However, as the condition of the two-wheeler rider was critical, he was later shifted to the Goa Medical College for advanced treatment. The car driver fled the scene after the accident, while personnel from the Mapusa and Anjuna police stations reached the spot and initiated a panchanama.
