Health Minister Rane on Doctor Availability: Challenges in Recruitment and Retention

Vishwajeet Rane cites salary expectations and private sector competition as reasons for short tenure of doctors. Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane stated that while efforts are underway to make more doctors available, challenges remain. He explained that doctors coming from the private sector have higher salary expectations compared to regular government doctors, creating an imbalance. This, he added, often results in them not staying for long periods, though every aspect of recruitment and retention is being actively addressed.
