Vijai Sardesai Seeks Urgent Assembly Session

Flags farm protection law, Ponda by-poll issue and ₹1000 crore borrowing Vijai Sardesai has written to Ashok Gajapathi Raju seeking immediate reconvening of the Goa Legislative Assembly. He stressed the need to urgently deliberate and pass the Goa Protection of Agricultural Lands Act, 2026, stating that safeguarding farmland and villages cannot be delayed. Sardesai also raised concerns over the Ponda by-election issue, the proposed ₹1000 crore borrowing, and alleged erosion of democratic processes.
