Short circuit suspected cause; cash, documents reduced to ashes – no injuries reported A devastating fire broke out at the residence of Premanand Kashinath Naik in Daag-Ponda, allegedly triggered by an electrical short circuit. The blaze completely destroyed the house, resulting in an estimated loss of around ₹3 lakh. Among the items lost were important documents and ₹70,000 in cash. Councillor Venkatesh Naik and fire personnel swiftly reached the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
