UTA Claims ST Community Likely to Get 10% Reservation in 2027 Elections

Velip Says About Four Assembly Seats May Be Reserved; Final Decision with EC United Tribal Association (UTA) President Prakash Velip has stated that the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community is expected to receive 10 per cent reservation in the 2027 Goa Assembly elections. He said around four Assembly constituencies could be reserved for ST candidates, while clarifying that the final decision on seat allocation will be taken by the Election Commission based on population data and delimitation norms. Velip added that the move would strengthen political representation for the ST community in Goa.
