Kuchcheli Flooding Issue: Drainage Work Underway, Says MLA

Joshua D’Souza cites blocked waterways and unplanned construction; efforts on to reduce waterlogging. MLA Joshua D’Souza said flooding in the Kuchcheli area has been a recurring problem for the past five years due to blocked natural waterways and unplanned construction. He informed that drainage improvement work is currently underway as per directions from the Collector to improve water flow and reduce waterlogging.He added that while efforts are being made to minimise the impact, a completely flood-free situation during heavy rains cannot be guaranteed.
