Priest’s room gutted, major damage averted A fire broke out in the priest’s room of St Lawrence Church, Sinquerim, early Sunday morning, reportedly due to a short-circuit. Flames spread to the roof, but the priest was not present. The Porvorim Fire Station team swiftly contained the blaze, preventing major damage. Losses are estimated at over ₹60,000.
