Counsel for Zenito Cardozo Objects, Citing Supreme Court Guidelines; Panaji Police on Tuesday sought a seven-day remand for eight accused persons, including Zenito Cardozo, in connection with the assault on social activist Rama Kankonkar. While the police pressed for custody citing the need to recover the vehicle used in the crime and a mobile phone allegedly thrown into the Mandovi River during a WhatsApp call, Zenito’s counsel objected to the remand request, invoking Supreme Court directives.
