Anjuna-Caisua Panchayat Halts Construction of Anti-Sea Wall

Villagers’ Complaint Prompts Stop-Work Order Over NDZ Violation Concerns The Anjuna-Caisua Village Panchayat issued a stop-work order to Deniel Lobo ,following objections from local residents, including Maxi D’Souza of Vagator-Anjuna, regarding the construction of an anti-sea protection wall at Survey No. 41/3 in Anjuna. Villagers raised concerns over alleged misuse of the No Development Zone and disruption to the area’s heritage landscape. After an on-site inspection by Panchayat members Laxmidas Chimulkar, Surendra Govekar, Dinesh Patil, Susmita Khorjuenkar, and staff, the construction was halted, and the matter was reported to Anjuna Police Station for further action.
