Officials Inspect Merces Mangroves Following HC Directions

Authorities Ordered to Clear Debris and Submit Compliance Report Before Monsoon Acting on directions from the High Court, officials of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB), and expert committee members conducted an inspection of the mangrove area at Merces on Monday.During the visit, debris was found at the site, prompting authorities to direct that all remaining waste be removed before the onset of the monsoon. Officials have been instructed to ensure compliance with the court’s directives.A detailed compliance report on the cleanup and remedial measures will be submitted to the High Court in the coming days.
