Allegations of favouritism, ₹1,350 crore loss to exchequer cited A petition has been filed in the High Court seeking a vigilance inquiry against a senior PWD official, alleging that work orders were issued to his relatives and favoured contractors. Advocate Simran Kanekar, appearing for the petitioners, claimed the alleged irregularities caused an approximate loss of ₹1,350 crore to the state exchequer. The petition also alleges that children of Goan freedom fighters working in the PWD were denied promotions at the official’s behest.
