Power Dept Ready to Reply to GHRC on Smart Meters

The Goa Electricity Department has said it is prepared to respond to the Goa Human Rights Commission’s suo motu cognizance on the installation of prepaid smart meters. Executive Engineer Kashinath Shetye stated that the programme is being implemented under a central government policy and stressed that the department is focused on legal compliance rather than political debates.
