Fishermen Offer Prayers, Sail Decorated Boats for Prosperous Season The Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul, locally known as Sangodd, was celebrated with deep religious fervour in Vasco da Gama. Fishermen gathered at the Old Cross Chapel to offer prayers before proceeding in a traditional procession towards the fishing jetty. As part of the rituals, decorated boats were blessed for a safe and prosperous fishing season and later sailed into the Arabian Sea, reflecting Goa’s rich coastal heritage that blends faith, tradition, and livelihood.
