Over 7,500 Turtle Hatchlings Released Along Morjim Coast

Forest Department reports 83 sea turtle nestings at Morjim–Tembwada stretch The Goa Forest Department reported that 83 sea turtles laid a total of 8,599 eggs this year along the Morjim–Tembwada coastal stretch. Out of these, 7,578 hatchlings were successfully released into the sea as part of ongoing conservation efforts. Officials noted that the nesting count was lower compared to last year, when more than 200 sea turtles had laid eggs in the region, which remains one of Goa’s key turtle nesting zones.
