Drivers Questioned for Running Business via WhatsApp Tensions have surfaced in Goa’s taxi sector after North and South Goa Taxi Associations lodged a complaint against taxi operators for allegedly running their business through WhatsApp groups. Following the complaint, drivers were summoned to Calangute Police Station and asked to explain the functioning of these groups and submit declarations. However, the drivers clarified that the WhatsApp groups were created to help fellow taxi operators coordinate and support each other, adding that all members are registered batch holders. Authorities are now examining whether the practice complies with existing regulations.
