Karapur-Sarvan Protesters Detained During Demonstration in Panaji

Villagers Demand Cancellation of Mega Housing Project Tension prevailed near Azad Maidan after police detained several Karapur-Sarvan villagers protesting against a proposed mega housing project. The demonstrators were demanding cancellation of the project and a stop-work order, citing environmental and livelihood concerns. The agitation is directed against the proposed development by The House of Abhinandan Lodha and approvals granted by the Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.
